I have so many questions and I feel like I take all your time?

I like to answer questions, so keep your emails and calls coming. :-)

I don't see on your agreement that you enforce spay and neuter laws and agreements. How do you make sure you dont over populate the shelters?

My full blooded AKC limited registrations that come with your pup will not have AKC breeding rights.

If you can not keep your collie forever I have a buy back offer depending on the market and age of your collie. I will always take a Honeytree collie off your hands (even if partly related or not bred by me) so never take your Honeytree collie to someone I don't know , a shelter , rescue, or pound.

I will pay for my litter registration application like most breeders will , and I will pay for your final limited registration into your name , your address, and your choice of puppy name if you get one of my young pups from a new litter.

Since you paid a premium for your collie then you will most likely keep him or her clean inside your home and watch their behavior. You will take them to classes and events and you will want to have them fixed if they get bossy to other dogs.

You will want your male to focus on you and not get the urge to find females...

Why don't you force people to keep dogs inside all the time?

The world is set up in these times for people to keep their dogs inside most of the time but mostly if someone spends so much for their dogs and all the care and love for thier dog then it stays important to keep their collie protected from elements, theft, bugs, dirt, escape, and from bothering neighbors.  I expect you to keep your collie inside at night and most of the day. I do not check on you or stalk your home.

Now a days, especially if you live in a neighborhood you should keep your dog or collie inside most of the time anyway. It is even required in some neighborhoods if you are away from home or sleeping at night. It really works out great.

You will find that a collie house trains easy very young, will stay cleaner, healthier, and less chance of digging in gardens, bothering neighbors, or running off with other animals.

If you leave your dog or collie outside too long they often will begin a habit of barking. They can hear well and will hear plenty...

How do you screen your potential clients to match your collies?

I like the way I learn about you. We talk and we can learn about each other to know if we are a match to each other.

It is simply how much I learn from email, phone, your questions, and what you can tell me on your own as we talk.  If we dont get a chance to converse enough the first time then it often happens if you get  back to me later.

I want you to use a good dog food so your collie will live a long time. I want this to be a happy long lasting good experience for both of us. Dog food companies now a days focus on making money and will cut costs in buying and caring for their ingredients. If the company is too big please do research. They all can make their dog food sound perfect with all the right words. Your vet can tell you how many dogs of all breeds he sees with allergies and cancers that are from pesticides in foods and yards.

You will be adding a substantial bill to your finances to add a well cared for dog to your home to continue in  good...

Do you or will you have whites, sable merle, blue ,or smooth collies available?

We used to breed really nice blues, sable merles, and smooth collies like  photos in this site here.. (Honeytree Gatsby)  we don't plan to breed for blues, sable merles, or whites for awhile.

we do still have use of some of the clients Honeytree collies of different color

We should have dark sables, pure light or orange sables in the next year, and tri coloreds too (It will be difficult to know what shade of sable puppy will turn out after the adult coat comes in.)

I might have whites or merles about 2019.

There will be brown or black spots or markings on body somewhere on the whites and a collie marked face. Let me know if that is something you would be interested in owning for your collie. If I breed for those colors early it will help to have a list ready for any whites I might get.

I might have smooths in a few years because we have plans to maybe co-own , grow, and show a smooth pup down our lines. Get on our smooth list just...

What is limited registration?

LImited registration is good for entering anything like agility, obedience, therapy, awards , certificates, titles, and many things. It is not for breeding rights or conformation shows that are for breeders.

Rarely will I sell for breeding rights unless we have past experience with you or it is a show home. So prices quoted are for limited registration unless we have many in-depth conversations and agreements.

If your pup grows up with conformation winning qualities and you have a qualified mentor for conformation shows that agrees, I will gladly make your registration full showing and breeding rights for an extra fee.

How much is the deposit on each of your collies?

$200 is the deposit that holds your pup and locks in your price.

You can change your mind for any reason. Deposits are refunded at the age the litter turns 8 weeks old, if you give notice. I will give your deposit back if you do not choose or receive a pup.

After receiving your pup the first week (72hrs) there is a full cash refund of all fees for any reason, with pup in same condition or genetic reasons. So go to your vet right away to decide.

Bring your collie here at any age if you need to give up your collie. I have a buy back offer depending on the market for the age and vet records of your Honeytree collie. Keep in mind that most collies have a much lower demand price as they age past 4 months old.

Some can go up in price with more training and signs of growing up with more qualities.

What are the fees for your collies?

It depends on a lot of reasons. First I decide how much I like a collie or puppy and the fee will still change each week as it grows if there is no deposit.

Fees can be anywhere from $0 to $5000. Our clients are previous clients that paid high fees the first time and kept in touch, clients that didn't get to keep in touch the first time but came back to us,  friends, famous collie people, families with collie histories, new clients...

I mostly charge based on the demand and timing.

The time for future plans the going rate for Honeytree collies is based on $1500 demand for first clients.

I do try to have a nice sized puppy packet and warrenty of value included for each pup. Yes bag of food, toothbrush, toys, and a leash are part of the packet. Each year I find different ideas. This year included a small harness or collar that fits at time of pick up, poop bags, of course health records of pup and parents.

The most important need is...
